For Pacapime environment is very important. Pacapime
chooses for an environmentally friendly approach to
their entire operation, commencing at source. This means
a preference goes out for re-usable (recycled) materials
in corrugated production.

The ink wastewater is pre-purified using physical chemistry.
The remaining wastewater (coming from for instance plumbing
and cleaning), together with the pre-purified ink wastewater,
is then biologically treated in an open air bassin with
areation.

|
As water is a valuable resource, we aim to better utilise
it in the not too distant future. By collecting rainwater
and using it in our heating plant and at a further stage
the purified wastewater being reused during the production
process.
Pacapime has chosen to sort its waste materials all
the way back to source. Utilising the system all collected
waste materials are re-distributed for re-use or recycling.
|
|
This way corrugated sleeves, paint and glue containers
are re-used; clients are stimulated to work with re-usable
pallets.
All the waste paper is being squeezed to bales and collected
for recycling.

Plastic film, strapping, cans of drink, batteries, oil
and fluorescent lights are independently collected and
recycled by recognised companies.

In 2002-2003 Pacapime invested in 2 new gas boilers,
replacing 3 steam blocks running on fuel. This investment
has helped provide a higher energy return and a reduction
in environmental pollution.
